Depending on how you deploy it, live chat on a company website can be a boon for business or a terrible calamity (by INC)

For some, it’s like adding a crack team of ace deal-closers who contribute directly to the bottom line. For others, it’s like hiring a surly, inattentive sales clerk who sends customers fleeing for the virtual door.

One example on the plus side: Live chat on the LaptopMD+ web site nabs three or four extra customers a day, or about 10 percent of total customer volume, figures Alex Mouravskiy, who works in online marketing for the Manhattan-based computer repair company.

These laptop cases will protect your device from falls and scratches (by NBC)

You can find laptop cases and sleeves in various materials, including neoprene, plastic, leather and nylon. Neoprene and nylon, for example, are the lightest options, according to Arthur Zilberman, president of laptop repair company Laptop MD. Plastic hardshell cases, on the other hand, may be the most durable, but they’re generally only available for specific models, which makes them harder to shop for, says Zilberman.

The Best Laptops for College Students According to Experts (Strategist | New York Magazine)

Choosing a laptop for college is a big decision that’s heavily influenced by your budget and your day-to-day needs. “It really depends on what you’re going to do with your laptop and what your major is,” says Sue Tiger, manager of Tech Zone at the University of Illinois. “We have only a couple colleges with specific recommendations: Architecture requires a very high-end PC, and education may require a medium-size, middle-of-the-road Macbook Pro.” Since the majority of students will use their computers to surf the web, take notes, answer emails, attend Zoom classes, and use word processors like MS Word or Google Docs, most midrange laptops — or maybe even a good Chromebook — will be sufficient. We spoke to Tiger, Regan, and six other computer repair and tech experts about the best machines for every type of student. Here are their recommendations.
